Christmas
Soon we will be celebrating Christmas. Some say that Jesus was not born on 25 December. Instead He was born sometime in March. We will not split hairs over the date of His birth. What is important is that ‘God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…’ Jn 3:16 . The Light has come into the world. This is the message of Christmas.
Can you imagine that on a special night, a star shone over Bethlehem announcing the arrival of The Light of The World? The Light has come……
To offer us a new and meaningful life – Jesus offers us an alternative life. A life with the Father which is purposeful and meaningful . In this life, God has prepared something wonderful for those who love Him.
To show us the way – Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We are lost and groping to find the right way to live. The light shines on our paths to lead our steps towards the good and blessed life in God.
To teach us to walk in the truth – in the light , there is no shadow of darkness at all, Everything is real, is bare, is transparent, is open. When we do wrong, we hide in the darkness..but when we walk with Christ , we walk in the light. We live in freedom …instead of living in bondage.
To give us hope – the saying goes “ there is light at the end of the tunnel “ Along the journey of life, we sometimes feel that all hope is lost. There is a light shining at the end urging us to press on and not give up – as light spells hope. We live our lives with hope.
To change our situation – before the dawn, it is night. When the light comes, it is another day. Yesterday is gone and today begins. We are assured that we will never remain the same, there is a new change coming. It is certain.
Let the light of Jesus shine into our lives and our future this Christmas!
